Last month, we traded in our Plymouth Voyager for an Oldsmoblie Sillhouette-- the "Cadillac of Minivans" It is a 2000 edition, and has 70,000 miles on it. http://www.oldsmobile.com/olds/silhouette/index.html
Our other van has 130K and was beginning to get overly costly to maintain, so we decided to upgrade. It has some nice features like heated seats, leather, navigation console, keyless entry, and power sliding door. Its a bit different, but I like it.
I have started to ride harder, longer and more frequently to train for the STP. Had a couple of rides with Dave Fisher where we went about 55 miles. We have also been riding home from work a couple of days a week-- which is 25 miles back. I am getting more comfortable in the saddle, so that is good. This Saturday, I will ride 80 miles. I talked to someone from the STP about leaving on Friday, as opposed to Saturday. She said that would be fine, but that there wouldnt be any support groups out on Friday. LeAnn can be my support group. She will meet me in Centralia on Friday night, where I have booked a hotel. Then go down to Portland the next day to pick me up. Who knows, with a full days head start, maybe I will come in first! :)
I was called as the Young Men's President last month. It is quite a whole new world from my last calling. I am still trying to figure out exactly what my duties are and what is expected of me. I have had a couple of Mutual activities where we have worked on the Duty to God program. This week I will be planning a 6 month calendar. On 6/15 I will be attending the Temple with the youth to do Baptisms for the dead. We also have High Adventure planned for the first week of August.
LeAnn was released as Primary president a couple of weeks ago. Im not sure she quite knows what to do with herself after 3 1/2 years! ;) She did such a great job and affected so many people/children positively. I believe it is hard for her to not be doing it anymore.
She was called to the Enrichment committee yesterday--quite a change of responsibility, but Im sure she will work her hardest to do the best she can there as well.
